CUSO History
CU Strategic Services (CU$$) is a leading Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), wholly owned by the United States Senate Federal Credit Union (USSFCU). With a team boasting over 75 years of combined commercial lending experience, CU Strategic Services has carved out a niche in the commercial loan sector. We offer a comprehensive suite of NCUA-compliant solutions, including participation loan services, commercial loan underwriting, portfolio loan review, and training and education—all designed to meet and exceed NCUA regulations.
Founded in 2010, CU Strategic Services emerged from USSFCU’s need to diversify its loan portfolio amidst rapid growth. Faced with limited investment opportunities and a saturated consumer loan market, USSFCU turned to commercial lending as a viable solution. By partnering with larger credit unions experienced in commercial lending, USSFCU was able to acquire participation loans that offered higher yields and enhanced portfolio diversification. This success led to growing interest from other credit unions seeking similar benefits, paving the way for the establishment of CU Strategic Services.
